If you look behind the driver's side kick panel there will be at least one unused grommet with the clear plastic tube. This grommet is for the optional fog light wiring. This is a common grommet location amongst all of the 06+ civics for the fog light wiring. From the passenger compartment it will be bent 90 degrees upward. The Another "Power from Battery to Trunk" DIY - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum link pictures show that grommet. I've used that location on my EP.

I installed my power wire in my 06 DX-g today but I used the grommet above the hood cable to run it. Iused a piece of semi stiff wire to run from the hole into my frontg fender until I could see the wire. I then ran my power wire threw the hole in the plastic cover from the inside of the hood and then taped it to the piece if wire I was using to fish it threw. It came threw so easy. I drilled a hole right in the middle of the grommet and my wire slid threw perfectly. Tucked it under all my plastic interior panels along the drivers side. Fished it up under the rear seat the same way I pulled it threw the firewall and into the trunk. It took about 30 minutes tops, easy as pie.

I drilled a hole through the firewall inside the car on the passenger side. From there I noticed there another firewall you must penetrate! I have a 4awg power wire going through there so it required me to purchase a 1/2" drill bit. I wasn't able to make use of a grommet due to the fact that the 2nd firewall is impossible to reach with fingers or hands.

Is is safe for me to keep it like that? I just installed an amp yesterday and its running quite well. I just think the only way it will get cut is if you intentionally saw into the wire using force.

i have an 07 si, i ran my power through the dash, if u look in the right corner, u can pop up the plastic guarding covering the windshield, theres a plastic peice u can pop off, and bring ur power wire right through there.

UPDATE:

I was able to use the grommet and all wiring is now protected using wire looms to keep the factory look . Everything is successful.

running power wire through the firewall is pretty easy if you have the right tools....about 12 inches above the gas pedal and a lil bit to the right there is a factory groumet you can run a 4 gauge wire through...get a flash light or a drop light because you wont see it without...you have to get pretty deep under the dash to find...when you find it take note on where it is and then locate it in the engine compartment...what i then did to get it through the groumet is i got a very long metal antenna mast (solid not retractible) with a sharp tip and taped the four gage wire to it and punctered it through the groumet, went back under the dash and untaped the wire and pulled through...i did this install on an 8th civic members car but sorry i didnt take any pictures...

I took my stereo out and found the harness for the antenna at the back of the stereo and tested to see which wire was power and spliced into it there and ran it back to my amp. Haven't had any trouble with it.
