Each dyno gives different results depending on temp and machine, as well as the car used. One person's subjective perception isn't enough--not to mention dynos on two completely different cars. Heck, for my car they said it gave 12hp peak for this SRI. But I'm skeptical of that, and not even sure I want to keep it on--and you don't see me bragging how it's better than the AEM.
The person above claims a 15--Injen awhile back posted a 11hp gain. Fujita claims almost 9hp gain. The numbers fluctuate quite a bit depending on conditions. Dyno comparison from the same car, of both the AEM and Injen is the best way to figure out which one is better. Until then they're still just speculation. Cutting is done as a precautionary measure to prevent wear on the CAI piping. When it's continually rubbing against the guard for thousands of miles, it's possible that the piping will wear down. It's not required, but you're likely better off doing so.

I just installed the Injen CAI in my LX and I love it, BTW there is no need to remove the bumper for the install, just the wheel and fender well plastic. Much easier than the whole damn bumper removal IMO. Took about 4 hrs total (even the 20 min of idle after install and many smoke breaks lol). Good choice on the injen though you will like it
