Oil change question...

I received a coupon from the dealer in the mail today for an oil change for
$24.95 and the fine print said the Hybrid would be $10 more. Is it because of the oil viscosity? Just curious.

From what I found on www.hybridcars.com, it is a synthetic viscosity.

$34.95 for synthetic isn't a bad price.

I was speaking with my buddy today and he said that the oil is as thin as water. Honda used this weight with fuel savings in mind. I don't know if it's synthetic or not so I guess I will find out this week.

The answer is yes, HCH use 0W20, the most expensive oil in the market, at least here in Portugal.

So the dealership has to pay $1.00 per quart instead of the $0.05/qt for the barrels of oil. Funny how inflated the cost difference is once they pass it to you.
