Cabin Filter Replacement

I'm looking for the cabin filter. Unlike previous years, the owner's manual left out a few maintenance items (like this one). Can someone tell me how to get to the cabin air filter?

from what i understand this isnt a very easy thing to get at, in fact you may have to take it to honda for service. I thought i read about it in my manual.

just curious why your already looking at messing with it?

I found it! It's in the same exact location as the 7th gen Civic behind the glove compartment. You simply squeeze the sides of the glove box to release the stoppers. The filter tray slides out. I'm looking at adding a thin carbon pre-filter to the existing cheap filter element like I did to my last car.

My dealer was willing to replace mine at my last oil change...Said it was due.
For a mere $89.

Not at this time, thank you.

Shit just go to honda and buy the part yourself and put it in. Won't take you more than 5 mins to do.

There's a DIY on here to shows everything step by step on how to do it.

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21949

Read the DIY all the way down to the bottom...easier method

Also, the filter shouldnt' cost you no more than 30$. I just bought mine from Criswell Honda in MD for 27$ bucks.

You shouldve seen the old filter boy was it dirty.

I wouldn't pay a tech to do it...seriously bud. ITs very easy.

absolutely incorrect (or maybe sarcasm).

Simply take everything out of your glove box. then push on both sides of the "tray" part of it (right near the top).

The box will then fall.

Then you'll see the Cabin air filter tray. simply unhook it and pull it out. Take the old filter out and put the new one in, then slide the tray back.

Seriously, It took me less than 5 minutes to do it from start to finish. rediculiously easy.

I got the filter through work for 11.00. gotta love discounts. Edit- And mine was super dirrrty after a year.
