HELP!!! Camber problem with Si suspension on LX
I installed the 06 Si suspension on an 06 LX and everything was great untill I noticed the back tires looking wierd. I took the car to get aligned and they said the camber for the rear tires were way off. The best they could get it was 2.0 left and 2.3 Right which is way off. This shocked me because everyone here on these forums said that you would not need a camber kit for the Si suspension or HFP suspension because it was made for the car. The HFP suspension install instructions are the exact same for the Si and LX. I double checked to make sure the upper arms were the same part # as the Si and they are so I don't see why I would need a Camber kit to fix this horrible problem. The worse part is this is my wifes and she never wanted me to modify our cars again because of this reason. That is why I bought the Si suspension, so I didn't have any problems with it. I am in the Army and here I am with a problem I can't afford. Someone please help!

Those should probably be negative values, right?
That's pretty much where my stock Si rear camber is set. I've got -2.0 on the left rear and -2.375 on the right rear and the only change I've made to the suspension is Honda camber-adjuster bolts in the front. Make sure the toe-in is set correctly for the rear - that's the only adjustment that can be made. |

Although the rear camber numbers aren't ideal for FWD cars, they aren't poor or dangerous; the camber settings on my Civic are in the high 1's (-1.7, -1.8). Besides, toe settings wear a tire moreso than camber. Anthony "Mario" Crea NNJR-SCCA |

a lot of cars with similar sus geometry have the neg camber in the back.
not similar, but even the new 3-series, also my G35C... lots of neg camber. now you can reduce it by adding camber rods, etc, but -2 is really not that big of a deal unless you're dialing in a particular setup for autox where you need more turnability. if you're just going for looks, some people say neg camber is nice... some say it's rice. depends on your preference. |
