Well, I finally got around to adding the Amsoil MTF to my wife's 07 RR Si Sedan today. It had 31220 mi. on the odometer when I got to work. BCJ, thanks for the writeup, it made things much much easier to do. I went in knowing exactly what to look for. As stated by multiple other owners, my tranny was WAY overfilled. The only "Problem" I had was that I had to find out the hard, and somewhat painful way, that removing/installing the fill plug is a bit of a PITA to do when you are a little bit larger than an average person. There sure isn't to much room to fit my hand in all of the cramped, and extremely tight spots that this car seems to have. But, it got done. I didn't really have to much seat time in this car, but my wife has told me that the car shifts much better and smoother than before. I am happy to say that this car in now running on 100% Amsoil products now. Let's see how long this car can stay on the streets w/out any major issues. Again, BCJ, thanks for this very informative writeup.

I have a rule of thumb along with AMSOIL's recommended... AMSOIL Recommends that If the original fluid is petroleum, you can go up to 3 times as far as OEM Recommended. What you do have to watch for is that with your first change to AMSOIL, many engines and transmissions will retain enough fluid to degrade the new fluid. What I usually do and like to see people do, is only take the first change to 2 times OEM and 3 times after that.. Me... It's cheap to do... I just change everything once per year right at the end of June, beginning of July on half my vehicles and around December on the rest of them... Overkill ??? Maybe...but I/we put a ton of miles on... I call it cheap insurance. What is amazing is that so many people think that OEM Fluids cannot be deviated from... I sold a Local Honda owner some MTF for his vehicle the other day and he was worried about using something besides OEM as it "may" void his warranty because AMSOIL has not "Certified" their fluid for the new 2008 Honda fluids.. After looking in his manual and it said that he could use a 10W-30 or 10W-40 motor oil if the Honda Fluid was not avaialable, He gladly purchased the AMSOIL MTF Fluid and took it to the shop behind him right away.. Said he noticed the improved shift just driving it back around the block to his shop. Doc |

Hi, i just finish changing my MTF , but I forgot to put the washer back on. Should I take the drain plug out again and put the washer back on? So far no leaks.Took me a while to change it since I don't have a lift. I only use one jack that came with the car.
